Best Practices
Connecting Additional IOXs to an IOX-BATTERY
The IOX-BATTERY can be daisy-chained with other IOXs, but must be first in the chain to allow maximum runtime on the GO device.
When a GO device is unplugged from the OBD port, the IOX-BATTERY assumes the load and starts powering the device. However, to ensure there are enough resources to power telematics services such as sending live data to the cloud, the IOX-BATTERY cuts power to all downstream IOXs in the chain.
The IOX-BATTERY supports both 12 V and 24 V vehicles.
If another IOX is installed between the GO device and the IOX-BATTERY when the device is unplugged, the IOX-BATTERY will power both the GO device and the other IOX. In this scenario, core telematics unit runtime will be reduced due to additional battery drain.
When connecting additional IOXs to an IOX-BATTERY, ensure the USB connector is seated correctly and secure the connection with a cable tie. (fig. 1)

The GO9 supports up to five IOXs in a daisy-chain, including the IOX-BATTERY.
Termination Shunt
fig. 2
The IOX comes with a termination shunt installed in the expansion port. (fig. 2)If you plan to install more than one IOX in a daisy chain, you must remove the shunt from each device in the line, with the exception of the last IOX connected. The shunt must remain in the last IOX and secured with a cable tie.
The shunt in the last IOX device ensures the GO device detects and configures the IOX, as effectively as possible.
✱ NOTE: Failing to install the shunt in the last IOX could affect IOX communication. It is recommended that you secure the shunt using a cable tie if not already done.
