Video Overview

  1. Custom Schmidt DB9 to 4 pin Deutsch cable required.  This cable must be constructed by the installer  prior to installation.

    • DB9 pin 2 - Deutsch pin 2

    • DB9 pin 3 - Deutsch pin 3

    • DB9 pin 5 - Deutsch pin 4

  2. Connect custom Schmidt cable to the ALC port Connect the other end of custom Schmidt cable to the IOX-WRKS primary port Use HRN-DB9SI15 if additional length is required.

  3. Schmidt Com settings (RS-232 setup) require:

    • Baud rate 9600

    • Parity None

    • Stop Bits 1

    • Data bits 1

    • RS232 protocol : EN15430-1:2015

    • Ensure the IOX-WRKS has the correct controller configuration loaded before proceeding to verification / simulation mode.

  4. Turn Schmidt controller on using the power button on the top left of the control head.
    • Turn Schmidt controller on using the power button on the top left of the control head.

    • Press the Menu button (top right) to enter the Driver menu screen.

    • In the “Driver” tab, select |Simulate driving speed”.

    • Return to the operator screen and confirm Sim speed.

    • Press the “0/1" button to activate the controller.

    • Confirm data is being captured.

    • Return the controller to “Sim speed off” when testing is completed

    • Never leave a controller in simulation mode!
